Anjara follows the interwoven lives of three Malagasy women whose resilience is tested by a rapidly changing climate. Set across the forest, the sea, and the sun-scorched earth, the film traces a generational arc of survival through the lives of Simone, Georgette, and Salima, whose experiences reflect the past, present, and future of climate adaptation in Madagascar.

Through intimate observation and interviews, Anjara is a portrait of motherhood, community, grief, and hope. It turns its lens toward women whose daily lives are being transformed and shows what it takes to adapt when the future is no longer certain, asking: Who really carries the cost of climate change?
